It was NEVER intended for IRISH CITIZENS. Surely, returning Irish Citizens have a right to claim job seekers allowance while looking for employment, in their own country? Furthermore, the EU deemed the 2 year residency rule ILLEGAL in 2007! It’s my understanding that this new rule was introduced with reference to NON EU persons coming to Ireland and claiming benefits???
